Exodus 16:23 He said to them,the Lord has said, Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a Holy Sabbath to the Lord, bake and boil what you will bake and boil today, and all that remains over put aside till morning.
Leviticus 20:30 You sahll keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary, I am the Lord.
Deuteronomy 5:12 Observe the Sabbath day to keep it holy, as the Lord you God commanded you.
Isaiah 56 :2 Blessed, happy and fortunate is the man who does this, and the son of the man who lays hold of it and binds himself fast to it, who keeps sacred the Sabbath so as not to profane it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil!
Matthew 12:
And at that time Jesus went through the fields of standing grain on the Sabbath: and His disciples were hungry, and they began to pick off the spikes of grain and to eat (Deut 23:25)
And when the Pharisees saw it they said to Him, See there! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful and are not permitted to do on the Sabbath.
He said to them, Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry , and those who accompanied him (Lev 24:(; 1Sam 21:1-6)
How he went into the house of God and ate the loaves of the showbread, which was not lawful for himto eat, nor for the men who accompanied him, but for the priests only?
Or have you never read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the sanctity of the Sabbath (breaking it) and yet are guiltless? (nim 28;9-10)
But I tell you, Something greater and more exalted and more majestic than the ntemple is here!
And if you had only known what this saying means, I desire mercy (readiness to help, to spare, to forgive) rather than sacrifice and sacrificial victims, you would not have condemned the guiltless. (Hos 6:6; Matt. 9:13)
For the Son of Man is Lord (even) of the Sabbath. He went on to the the synagogue where He healed the man with the withered hand, and told them "So it is lawful and allowable to do good on the Sabbath days. "
